The Job

We are looking for a seasoned developer who is excited to help architect complex and scalable web services and infrastructure, but is also capable of putting their head down and quickly implementing product features without rework. This is the kind of person who can’t sleep at night unless they have solid automated regression test coverage, and who will positively influence that TDD culture on the team. This person’s thought-leadership should be driving best practices on the team and naturally bringing up the performance of those around them to their level. “Teamwork” isn’t just a word to this person - it is a lifestyle. Your key responsibilities will be...

  • Designing and developing a scalable and robust web application that can be used by public and internal end users.
  • TDD, BDD on full stack development from front end to backend as well as DB
  • Collaborating with DevOps to get the pipeline automated so approach CI/CD
  • Working agile with the team to deliver MVP effectively
  • Being Collaborative, owning the work and taking initiative
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in several systems and domain areas

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information System, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid OO programming and design skills.
  • Proficient in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C#, Python, Go, or JavaScript (NodeJS) including object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of frontend programming with JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, HTML, etc.
  • Knowledge of storage systems and SQL/NoSQL.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner and have the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced development environment
  • Well-rounded engineering skills to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional business and software development teams and deliver high quality code.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate highly complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
  • Experience on contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Experience on developing (design, integrate, and trouble shoot) microservices on the cloud.
  • Able to consistently produce high quality software (e.g., secure, testable, maintainable, low-defects, efficient, etc.), which incorporates best practices.
  • Able to establish good working relationships with peers and take part in constructive dialogue to resolve problems.
  • Passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, clean technical solutions.

 

  • Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position located in either our Orlando headquarters or the NYC area.
